Portugal’s principal criminal investigation authority, PJ, has spent 80 years on the front lines of the most serious and complex crimes, terrorism, cybercrime, drug trafficking, human trafficking, and organised violent crime. They work alongside Europol and Interpol, and they understand better than most what it takes to detect, investigate, and prosecute transnational threats at sea.
But PJ is far more than an end-user. Since 2019, they have participated in 40+ EU-funded R&I projects, with 14 currently active, demonstrating a genuine, forward-looking commitment to innovation in law enforcement. They are active members of the EuCB and ECBI, shaping the future of security research governance at the European level.
