As part of the #MARCONNECT consortium, we’re proud to introduce Xsealence Sea Technologies, a Portuguese company born from over 30 years of maritime R&D conducted at INESC, INOV, and the University of Lisbon, spun off as an independent company in 2013.
Xsealence specialises in command, control, and monitoring solutions for maritime applications, both civilian and military, including Vessel Monitoring Systems (VMS), Maritime Mission Coordination platforms, and Port Surveillance tools. Their flagship MONICAP™ system, one of the world’s most advanced VMS solutions, is deployed in more than 1,000 ships across 14 command and control centres worldwide. Portugal was actually the first country in Europe to introduce legislation requiring continuous vessel monitoring, largely driven by the R&D behind what became Xsealence.
