We’re excited to share that MARCONNECT and the CROSSMARE Project are in active discussions around potential synergies between our two initiatives.
Both projects were funded under the same Horizon Europe call, and the more we talk, the more common ground we find. MARCONNECT brings civilian vessels into the maritime security picture through its Vessel-Connected Services concept, enabling voluntary sensor data sharing between vessel operators and Coast Guard Authorities to improve maritime situational awareness. CROSSMARE is building an advanced multi-domain interoperability framework that integrates space, air, surface, and underwater surveillance assets into a unified, AI-powered maritime picture.
Together, these two approaches are deeply complementary. Where CROSSMARE aggregates surveillance data across domains, MARCONNECT adds a novel and underexplored source, the civilian maritime fleet, creating richer, more complete situational awareness for border protection authorities.
